These are free gist notes – really short, summarised notes to give you the gist – of the short story ‘Painting the Tiger’ by Philip Jeyaretnam.
They aren’t everything you need to know, but they exist to give you a start as you begin to understand the text. At the end, I collate the evidence related to ‘How We Live Now’.
Your goal should be to try to understand what the author intends for us to realise about how we live now, what’s wrong with it, and how we should try to live next.
